Police officer resigns
(WOUB) - One of the three Zanesville area police officers accused of trying to steal cocaine from a drug dealer and sell it, has resigned from his job.

Trevor Fusner sent a letter to the Zanesville police chief Wednesday saying his resignation was effective immediately.

Fusner waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday and will be released under electronic monitoring.

The two other officers charged in the case, Genesis Healthcare System Police Officer Chad Mills and Zanesville Police Officer Sean Beck, waived their rights to preliminary hearings earlier this week.

Mills was also released under electronic monitoring.

Beck, the man investigators say was the mastermind behind the plan, is being held without bond until trial.
