Storms sentence upheld
Curtis Storms
(WOUB) - An appeals court has upheld an increased sentence for a convicted Athens County kidnapper.

Athens County Prosecutor Dave Warren says the 4th District Court of Appeals kept a 35 year sentence for Curtis Storms.

Storms was convicted in April 2005 of kidnapping and robbing an 84-year-old woman in Athens County.

He was originally sentenced to 30 years in prison but the Ohio Supreme Court found the sentencing standards to be unconstitutional.

Storms requested re-sentencing and Athens County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Goldsberry increased the sentence from 30 to 35 years.

The Court of Appeals upheld the 35 years sentence.
