New accidental death legislation
(WOUB) - Members of the Ohio State Prosecuting Attorneys' Association are working on new accidental death legislation.

This comes after the recent death of a little girl in Clermont
County and one in Athens County two years ago.

The children both were left for many hours in the back seat of a car and died.

Athens County Prosecutor Dave Warren
says he and other members of the Association's Legislative Committee met yesterday (Thursday) in an effort to draft a proposed bill.

Warren says the proposal calls for offenders to be charged with a second or third degree misdemeanor...and could get jail time if convicted.

Warren expects the proposal to be ready for consideration by the General Assembly in about a month.
