Not Discrimination
(WOUB) - The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights determined that Ohio University did not discriminate when it cut some men's sports programs earlier this year.

According to a University news release, the ruling was in response to a March 13th complaint contending that when O.U. cut men's swimming and diving and indoor and outdoor track and field, it violated Title Nine.

Title Nine prohibits sex discrimination in programs and activities that receive Department of Education Funding.

A letter from the Office of Civil Rights Cleveland office stated there was insufficient evidence to conclude that the University violated Title Nine as alleged.
