Ohio University childcare plan
(2007-09-06)
(WOUB) - Ohio University's Executive Vice President and Provost say improving the child care situation in Athens County is key to recruiting good employees.

The O-U Child Care Task Force analyzed child care in the area and found that finding quality care is difficult for Athens parents.

But Kathy Krendl hopes to change that.

Krendl plans to increase childcare options, create an informative website for parents, train supportive supervisors and get more feedback from parents.

Blis Devault is the parent of a child and an O-U employee who works here for us at W-O-U-B.

She says it's important to be able to find quality child care.

One of the steps to be taken by the university -- solicit proposals from local and national care providers who might be interested in starting a business in the Athens area .
