O.U. responds to child care concerns
(WOUB) - Executive Vice President and Provost Kathy Krendl says Ohio University will respond to recommendations from the O.U. Child Care Task Force to try to improve the child care situation in Athens County.

Krendl says she will appoint a university representative to work with the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development and the chamber of chamber to help solicit proposals from local and national care providers.

More than 17-thousand dollars will go to developing an O.U. child care Web site.

Krendl says University Human Resources officials will work to increase training for all supervisors to create a child-care friendly environment.

$800 will go to doing another child-care survey in the community to receive more feedback.

The Child Care Task Force was formed in July 2006 in order to address child care needs in the area.
