Housing improvement money
(WOUB) - Several Southeastern Ohio communities were among 61 that have been awarded more than $31 million for housing improvements.

Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher announced Wednesday that this money would go toward such improvements as funding home repair, new construction, and down payment assistance.

Hocking, Meigs, Muskingum, Perry and Washington counties numbered among those communities.

The grants will help roughly 1400 low to moderate-income households.

That means nearly 4000 people will be getting assistance.

The grants will also help local habitiat for humanity affiliates build 45 homes.
