Ohio University grant potential
(2007-08-23)
(WOUB) - Ohio University is looking to get a piece of a 122-million dollar pie by capitalizing on its background in energy.

A new partnership between the Ohio Third Frontier Project and the University System of Ohio is designed to expand Ohio industry by focusing on research.

O-U will compete with other universities for grants provided that partnership.
Ohio University's Vice President for Research, Jim Rankin, says O-U has already helped create a company through a fuel cell patent.

And he says the university is poised to use its strengths in this area to secure grant funds.

The grants will fund scientific facilities and other university efforts to recruit prominent scholars.
