Woman to pay funeral expenses of two killed
(2007-08-14)
(WOUB) - A Nashport woman has to pay the funeral expenses of the two people she killed in a motorcycle accident last year.

44 year old Thelma Bartley was ordered to do that by the judge during her sentencing hearing Tuesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.

Bartley was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the June, 2006 deaths of longtime Zanesville insurance agent Marshall Atwood and his passenger Deborah McClintock of Zanesville.

Prosecutors say Bartley admitted to being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The judge also sentenced Bartley to 90 days in the county jail, five years of probation, suspended her driver's license for two years and ordered her to wear an alcohol monitor on her leg.
