Hearing scheduled on plan for 3 months' mandatory maternity leave
(WOUB) - State officials want to find out what
people think of a proposal that would guarantee 12 weeks off for working women who give birth.

The Ohio Civil Rights Commission is holding a public hearing on its plan this morning in Columbus. The agency is looking to clarify the state's current pregnancy anti-discrimination rule which says employers must provide a "reasonable" amount of maternity leave. Officials say that's led to confusion.

Business groups have already come out against the proposed change, saying it would be too hard on small employers.
