Arrests made in 1 of a series of suspicious package scares
(WOUB) - Columbus police have made arrests in one of a series of suspicious package scares that kept the bomb squad busy yesterday.

Police say 19 year old Andrew Luhring of Columbus and 16 year old Domonick Dunn of Tiffin in northwest Ohio saw news reports about the other cases and decided to leave a gift wrapped box outside an Ohio Department of Education building downtown. The two have been charged with inducing panic.

A police spokeswoman says the box was detonated after it was found last night and was empty.

Authorities don't believe the suspects are connected with five other reports of suspicious or unattended packages checked out earlier yesterday. None contained explosives or was a threat, and no other arrests have been announced.
