Drought conditions worsen in southwest Ohio
(2007-06-28)
(WOUB) - Today's rain comes just in time, with a drought worsening in Ohio.

A federal monitoring service says the drought has turned severe across all or part of 12 southern and southwest Ohio counties, including Hamilton County, where Cincinnati is located.

A number of other counties in western and southern Ohio are said to be under moderate drought conditions, while the rest of the state is considered abnormally dry.

National Weather Service meteorologist Scott Hickman in Wilmington says today's storms are expected to bring as much as three-quarters of an inch of rainfall. He says that could make a difference in the drought.
