New jail administrator
(WOUB) - In the wake of a mistaken release, Ross County's jail administrator has resigned.

A sheriff's department spokesman says Terry Morris, who has been jail administrator since 2000, stepped down Tuesday.

Last week, 19 year old Dustin Deardurff of Wellston was mistakenly told he was free to go with other inmates who were being released and didn't do anything wrong.

Deardurff was supposed to be released to waiting Hardin County deputies.

The mistake was blamed on a miscommunication at the jail.

Deardurff was back in custody about 30 minutes after being released.

Tim Holman has been named the new jail administrator.

He has been working in Ross County as a corrections officer for the last 18 years.
