Man pleads guilty to charges related to drug store siege
(WOUB) - A man who allegedly held six people hostage at gunpoint at a Logan County drug store has pleaded guilty to a two-count federal indictment.

31 year old Geoffrey Harold Harvey entered his plea yesterday in US District Court in Charleston.

Harvey was indicted in February on charges of taking, with the use of a firearm, a controlled substance worth more than 500 dollars from a licensed pharmacy; and of discharging a firearm while committing a pharmacy robbery.

The charges stem from a November 13th incident at the Family Discount Pharmacy in Stollings.

The hostages said Harvey who was armed with a sawed off shotgun and a pistol told them he wanted to kill himself, but didn't want to hurt anyone else. He was given a painkiller and anti-anxiety medication, which he ingested before being overpowered by the hostages.

Harvey faces up to 35 years in prison when sentenced on September Seventh.
