(WOUB) - Former Ohio University president Robert Glidden has left his post as a consultant and fundraiser for OU.

According to a university news release, Glidden resigned his contract with the university Board of Trustees, effective May 31st.

In January, 2005, it was controversial when the university announced that Glidden was going to be paid $83,000 a year by the OU Foundation to work five days a month.

A year later, Glidden's evaluation showed he wasn't able to secure any monetary donations from March 2005 to February 2006.

A final dollar amount on how much he was able to bring in to the university isn't immediately available.

OU says Glidden did work to secure awareness and support for the new Learning and Research Facility and an OU summer stock theater.
