Attorney general employee fired because of criminal record
(WOUB) - A person with a criminal background was behind the wheel for the state's top law enforcement official.

The office of Attorney General Marc Dann says the part time driver has been fired as a result of the discovery.

A spokeswoman says Dann's office can't release more information about the worker's conviction because it's a private, personnel matter.

The employee had passed a background check for his driving job in Dann's Boardman office in northeast Ohio. But a criminal record turned up during a national check required when the worker was transferred to an agency within the office.

The employee was to transport evidence but was fired last week.
