Little Hocking water warns consumers
(2007-05-31)
(WOUB) - The Little Hocking Water Association is warning customers it may have to start pumping water from a well known to have higher amounts of the chemical C8.

That's because water usage is "very high" right now and, with little rainfall lately, the Association is having trouble meeting demand.

General Manager Robert Griffin is asking customers to cut back.

He says the average rainfall for the month of May is about four and a half inches and so far there has been less than one inch.

C8- a suspected carcinogen was first discovered in Little Hocking water five years ago.

It's particularly high in well number five, so Little Hocking avoids using that well.

However, Griffin says they'll have to if water demand is not sufficiently reduced.
