WOUB to hold Community Involvement Day at OU Zanesville
(WOUB) - WOUB will be holding a Community Involvement Day at the OU Zanesville Campus Center on Monday, May 7, 2007. The event will feature several activities including a visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog, a WOUB Advisory Council meeting, and a community forum. All of the events are open to the public.

Clifford the Big Red Dog will be at the OU Zanesville Campus Center from 2 - 4 p.m. The first 250 children will receive free books and stickers. A Community Advisory Council meeting will be held from 2 - 4 p.m.

Carolyn Bailey Lewis, director and general manager of WOUB, will be the guest speaker and a community forum will be held from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. in Elson Hall. Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the WOUB staff, share ideas, or comment on WOUB and its services. Throughout the afternoon, there will be displays, including: "Wired for Books" (, "Family Health" (, local productions such as "Passion Works: A Story of Flying," "Gridiron Glory," "Health Vision," and "Bobcat Blitz" (for information on these programs visit WOUB's educational partner Educational Technology for Southeastern Ohio (eTSEO) will join WOUB in showcasing new educational projects for teachers and students such as "What's The Problem?" "African Pen Pals," and the teacher's version of "Passion Works" and "Opening the Door West: The Ohio Company of Associates."

At 6:30 p.m., Council member and actor Kathy Devecka will present "A Living History Character Performance of Bertha Eichenbaum Levion." The Levions are longtime Zanesville residents.

The Community Engagement Day is an Advisory Council initiative to have one of its three meetings a year on a regional campus. In attendance throughout the day will be Council members and other volunteers, WOUB staff and on-air personalities, and students. A special guest speaker will highlight the community forum at 5:30 p.m.
