It's official: DHI to move into McBee building
(WOUB) - A much anticipated Athens business deal is done.

Diagnostic Hybrids Inc. is moving into the old McBee Building.

Geoff Morgan, DHI's Chief Financial Officer, says the Athens company has just signed a lease with East State Street Development Company.

"We are hoping, if the renovation goes as planned, to be able to move in the fourth quarter of 2007," said Morgan.

The agreement is for Diagnostic Hybrids to have 50,000 square feet.

Morgan says that will give their 180 employees room to spread out and accomodate more workers in the future.

"The company has many exciting products in the pipeline," said Morgan, although he said he could not talk about specifics since some are pending with the Food and Drug Administration. "To be able to meet our long term growth needs, a facility that could accomodate our growth was very important to Diagnostic Hybrids."

DHI makes kits for detecting diseases.
