Suspect in stabbing death pleads not guilty
(WOUB) - A Hocking College student accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend two weeks ago is pleading not guilty to aggravated murder.

Ronald Hendrickson II is charged in the death of 21-year-old Jodi Marie Blankenship.

Police say Hendrickson killed Blankenship during a fight in the Nelsonville house the two shared with three other Hocking College students.

Athens County Prosecutor Dave Warren says Hendrickson was also stabbed and he was treated for wounds at a Columbus hospital. Hendrickson reportedly told the police that Blankenship attacked him first.

He was arraigned today in Athens County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Alan Goldsberry entered the not guilty plea on Hendrickson's behalf after he refused to do so himself. Bond was set at $800,000.

Hendrickson is currently in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail awaiting an August 13 trial.
