Attorney general asks 3 public utilities commissioners to resign
(WOUB) - State Attorney General Marc Dann has asked three Ohio utility regulators to resign.

Dann says they've done nothing wrong, but he says their nominations to the five member Public Utilities Commission of Ohio were improper, coming during closed meetings that should have been open to the public.

The three commissioners were appointed by former Governor Bob Taft. Dann says he's prepared to go to court if they won't step down.

The three commissioners; Chairman Alan Schriber, Ronda Fergus and Valerie Lemmie all said they didn't think they did anything wrong and hope to find a solution to Dann's questions.

The attorney general says the appointment of a new commission member by Governor Strickland also should be voided because of the same closed meeting issue.

A spokesman for Governor Strickland says his office would be inclined to reappoint the same commission members.
