Union workers at Fenton approve contract
(2007-03-13)
(WOUB) - Union workers at a Williamstown glass factory have approved a new contract.

Members of the United Steelworkers union accepted the three-year contract with Fenton Art Glass last night. Last week, members worked under an extended contract -- giving the two sides more time to negotiate.

Pay cuts and seniority were the main points of negotiation. Union officials say the new contract doesn't contain any pay cuts. In fact, workers will get a 25-cent pay raise in 2009 if the company is profitable.

Fenton Art Glass also agreed to increase its share of the cost of insurance in 2008 and 2009. Fenton employs about a hundred union members. The company recently celebrated its 100th year in business.
