Students speak out about smoking ban
(2007-03-09)
(WOUB) - The statewide smoking ban has been in place for a couple months now and some Hocking College students aren't happy about it.

Students and faculty must smoke in their cars, which are the only areas on campus where smoking is allowed.

About 45 students and staff members petitioned the college's board of trustees, asking officials to build a roofed structure for smoking.

School president John Light says the college used to have designated outdoor smoking areas, that students generally disregarded.

Even non-smoking students like Lorna Bailey seem to think some type of structure would be a good idea.

The petitions were presented to the Hocking College board, then turned over to a committee for discussion.
