Ohio University dismisses three plagiarism cases
(WOUB) - Ohio University officials have dismissed three cases in its probe into possible plagiarism by engineering graduates.

OU President Roderick McDavis says the three theses came from victims in the case. They were the papers that others apparently copied from.

The Athens-based school's Academic Honesty Hearing Committee has reviewed 16 out of 34 alleged plagiarism case so far.

Members ruled nine cases require calling the graduate back to campus for a hearing. Another four will be asked to rewrite the thesis or dissertation.

The probe began after a student reported he found copying while reading other papers.

The school is doing a computer analysis of about 1,500
papers submitted since 1980 to check for copying.
