Bobcats Open season with a Bang MADISON, WI (WOUB) - The Ohio Bobcat Volleyball team is starting things off on the right note.
The Lady Bobcats claimed the InnTower Invitational championship this weekend in Madison, Wisconsin.
Ohio defeated the 29th ranked Wisconsin Badgers 3-1 in the finals yesterday.
The victory over the Badgers was the Bobcats second over a team ranked in the top-30 as they swept Duke on Saturday night.
Ellen Herman led the way with 19 kills and was named the tournament's MVP, while Sarah Petrulis and Jane Sytsma joined Herman on the InnTower All-tournament team.
Ohio finished the season last year as MAC Champions but lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
They'll return to action next Friday against Northern Iowa, who qualified for the NCAA tournament last year. © Copyright 2012, WOUB
