Ohio Volleyball Picked to Win MAC East ATHENS, OH (WOUB) - In a vote by the league's coaches, the Ohio University volleyball team has been picked as the favorite to win the Mid-American Conference East Division in 2009, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

The Cats received eight of the division's 12 first place votes, outdistancing rival Miami, which checked in with four votes.

Bowling Green was tabbed to finish third in the division, followed by Akron, Kent State and Buffalo.

Western Michigan was the coaches' pick to win the West Division, as well as the conference tournament.

The Bobcats will make their 2009 home debut on Sept. 11, when they play host to Indiana on the first day of the Hampton Inn Invitational.
