Copperheads Win First Home Game
(2009-06-25)
(WOUB) - The Southern Ohio Copperheads used a strong outing from pitcher Cameron Hobson to pick up a 3-to-2 victory of the Xenia Scouts Wednesday night.
Hobson pitched 5 innings, giving up only one run...to pick up his first victory of the season.
Jerod Yakubik had a strong night with an RBI triple, while going 2-for-2.
The Scouts made noise in the 5th when Bryan Lucas led off the inning with a solo home run to left field.
But Michael Fear responded with an RBI single in the sixth inning that put the Copperheads up for good 3-to-1.
The win gets Southern Ohio to within a game of .500 at 3-and-4.
