Donations accepted for the uninsured
So says Bennett Luckiesh acting chair of the Long Term Recovery Committee -- regarding the Athens County tornado recovery effort.
Officials say families who are uninsured or under-insured are still struggling to fix or rebuild their homes.
Local Red Cross coordinator Pam Martino estimates the cost of immediate sheltering and feeding affected families and clean-up volunteers was more than $100,000.
She says -- "We need to replenish those funds so we will be ready the next time disaster strikes."
And Adventist Community Services is setting up warehouse operations for donated goods.
