Restaurant giving back to Athens ATHENS, OHIO (WOUB) - An Athens restaurant will be using Thanksgiving day to raise money for the United Appeal.

Avalanche Pizza will be opening its doors at 6 A.M. to accommodate all customers who want to buy a piece of one of the 400 loaves of bread and help Athens County.

Last year's fundraiser raised over $1,000 for the United Appeal and its 12 partner agencies which include Girl Scouts and the Athens County chapter of the American Red Cross. © Copyright 2012, WOUB
