Hocking College ratifies new contact for raises NELSONVILLE, OH (WOUB) - Faculty and professional staff at Hocking College have ratified a new contract.

Hocking College Education Association President Cheryl Mansky said last night the vote was unanimous.

It's a one-year contract that covers 211 employees.

Mansky says they get a "step raise" for experience and a 1 1/4 percent raise in the salary schedule.

She says there are significant changes to the health insurance coverage, including concessions to the college to reduce costs.

The Hocking College Board of Trustees is expected to add its approval at its next meeting next month.

This contract replaces one that expired June 30th.

Mansky says negotiations got off to a late start.

She's looking forward to doing better next time with a new president on board.

Mansky says President Ron Erickson has proposed a labor-management committee to seek consensus on issues.
