Gov. Strickland announces $100K for energy in Appalachia
(2009-10-27)
(WOUB) - Governor Ted Strickland says Ohio is committed to promoting the energy sector of the economy.

Yesterday, he put $100,000 into that commitment.

He announced a $100,000 Appalachian Regional Commission grant to the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University.

The money will be spent to provide energy efficiency and renewable energy assistance services to businesses, communities and residents in our region.

The Center will provide access to information on energy technology development, financing opportunities, and training and project assistance.

The announcement came on the eve of Governor Strickland's welcoming remarks at the Appalachian Regional Commission Annual Conference in Athens.
