Second OU student in two weeks to be hospitalized with bacterial meningitis ATHENS, OH (WOUB) - Ohio University has another case of bacterial meningitis.

There was one last week, too.

Is there any connection?

Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi says "no."

"We have no reason to believe there's any connection," he says.

Lombardi says they talked with the student who came down with bacterial meningitis last week.

"He said that he had no connection to this woman, does not know her, is not friends with her, has not interacted with her," he says. "So we have no reason to believe they're connected."

The latest bacterial meningitis patient was taken to a Columbus hospital.
