Probable case of Meningitis on OU's campus

(WOUB) - Ohio University officials say there is one probable case of bacterial meningitis on campus.

Vice President of Student Affairs Kent Smith says the student is a sophomore who lives in a dorm.

According to a press release, the male student, a resident of Bromley Hall was transferred yesterday to a Columbus hospital.

Assistant Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones has been in contact with the student and reports that he is in good spirits.

Common symptoms of bacterial meningitis include fever, stiff neck and headache.
