College of Education Gift ATHENS, OH (WOUB) - Violet Patton is at it again.

Today, it was announced that the 19-38 College of Education Alumna gave 28-million dollars to Ohio University in honor of her parents.

Last month, Patton gave 13.3 million dollars to the university to establish and fund the Violet L. Patton Center for Arts Education.

Today's announcement means the College of Education will be renamed the Gladys W. And David H. Patton College of Education.

President Roderick McDavis says the 28-million dollar gift is the single largest gift ever received by the College of Education.

He also says it is the largest gift to any College of Education in Ohio and one of the largest single gifts to any College of Education in the nation. © Copyright 2012, WOUB
