New manufacturing plant will bring jobs HANNIBAL, OH (WOUB) - Governor Ted Strickland went to Monroe County yesterday for an announcement.

It's the kind of announcement he'd like to make more often.

A new manufacturing facility to be built in Hannibal will bring 40 jobs to the region.

Voith Hydro will open the facility, which will manufacture parts for four hydroelectric facilities currently under development by American Municipal Power.

Specifically, Voith will make what are called stators.

Stators are key components of the generator, and these particular units will be 30 feet in diameter, 10 feet tall and weigh 128 tons.

The company is getting incentives from the state for the new plant.
