Ohio Church says IRS Found No Improper Politics from Pulpit

COLUMBUS, OH (wosu) - A church that faced allegations of
improperly endorsing a gubernatorial candidate says the Internal Revenue Service has cleared it of wrongdoing.

Debbie Stacey, an official with World Harvest Church in suburban Columbus, says the IRS informed the church in July that it found no evidence it improperly engaged in politics.

A group of liberal ministers filed a complaint with the IRS two years ago that said Pastor Rod Parsley's support of Republican Ken Blackwell amounted to political endorsement.

The IRS never confirmed an investigation. A message was left seeking comment Monday.

And the controversy over separation of church and politics continues. Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler reports.
