Arson Charges Are Pending in Early Morning Fire
(2008-08-26)
(wosu) - Columbus firefighters say arson charges are pending against a woman who received first and second degree burns in a fire early Tuesday on the southwest side of the city.

Battalion Chief Doug Smith says when firefighters arrived at 800 Kingsford Road, the woman was outside the house and saying "She's in there, she's in there."

Firefighters searched for another victim and found a dog. Medics worked on the animal, and firefighters transported it to a veterinary hospital.

Chief Smith says the woman was treated for burns and smoke inhalation. And, as far as they know, the dog is fine.
