Childrens' Hospital Leads National Research into Childhood Injuries

COLUMBUS, OH (wosu) - Childrens' Hospital Friday became the go-to site for research on childhood injuries in the U.S.

The hospital is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention network of research hospitals. Childrens' research director Dr. Gary Smith says the Columbus hospital will be the only member of the network to specialize in pediatric injury.


Smith says Childrens' was active in seeking passage of the new ordinance in the city of Columbus requiring all young people under the ago of 18 to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle.
