A Good Film Made Outside of "Hollywood"
WOSU Film Critics Rico and Joyce Long review "Outsourced."

This is a film about the out sourcing of American jobs to foreign countries. In this case, a small town outside of Mumbai, India.

A reluctant sales manager is sent to India to train workers in a call center to replicate his and his companions jobs.

In my own experience the phone contacts frequently are very difficult to understand, if indeed one can at all! In "outsourced" the cultural differences are obvious and many. It would be much funnier if it wasn't so true.

There is an inevitable romance, again affected by the cultures.

I must say that the sales manager, played by Josh Hamilton could have been better cast. I didn't find him too appealing myself. But I really did like the premise, probably a likely situation in today's markets.

The humor comes primarily from the culture clashes but it's the Indian characters' likability which makes it fun.

It is not a "slickly" made Hollywood style film but still rather refreshing overall.

These two lovers have a problem a bit of a twist.
