Thousands of Ballroom Dancers Wrap Up Competition in Columbus
Out of fifteen-thousand entries to the Ohio Star Ball, three-thousand competitors are vying for cash and scholarships this weekend in downtown Columbus. The Ohio Star Ball Competition. Three-thousand ballroom dancers from across the United States and Canada are wrapping up six days of competition tonight in Columbus.

Local dance teacher Bill Sparks helps to organize the Ohio Star Ball. He says dancers range in age from four to eighty-four and compete in a range of categories. Sparks talked with WOSU's Marilyn Smith about the competition and the types of dance included in the event.

Sparks says the competition is scheduled to be held in the Capital City again next year.
