Merce Cunningham Remembered
Merce Cunningham Remembered Merce Cunningham (1919-2009)
Dancer choreographer Merce Cunningham died on July 26 at 90. His life and influence in the world of dance and all the arts is recalled by Tim Veach, founder of the Columbus Dance Theatre. Tim Veach remembers Merce Cunningham You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls or maybe museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive. It is not for unsteady souls.--Merce Cunningham
