The Brooklyn Cowboy The Eastern European Immigrant who created the Musical Soundtrack for America by David Srebnik If America has a musical identity or musical DNA, conductor JoAnn Falletta says it was created by an Eastern European immigrant who composed music in his Brooklyn apartment. His name: Aaron Copland.
