Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page will serve as presenters at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony April 4 in Cleveland. Flea will welcome Metallica into the Rock Hall while Page will do the honors for his former Yardbirds band mate Jeff Beck. Beck is being recognized for his solo work, having previously been inducted in 1992, alongside Page, as a member of the Yardbirds.
Country outlaw Shooter Jennings claims that he twice turned down an invitation to front Velvet Revolver, once "a couple of years ago" and again in 2008 after Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland split with the supergroup. "[Velvet Revolver are] literally one of the best bands I've ever heard," says Jennings. "[But] I didn't feel like my next step should to be . . . stepping into the shoes of Scott Weiland and singing that stuff."

Ohio man charged with drunken driving on bar stool
NEWARK, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in Ohio say a man has been charged with drunken driving after crashing his motorized bar stool. Police in Newark, 30 miles east of Columbus, say when they responded to a report of a crash with injuries on March 4, they found a man who had wrecked a bar stool powered by a deconstructed lawn mower. Twenty-eight-year Kile Wygle was hospitalized for minor injuries. Police say he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he told an officer at the hospital that he had consumed 15 beers. Wygle told police his motorized bar stool can go up to 38 mph.

The soap opera "Guiding Light" is switching off after a 72-year run that predates television. CBS says the show will have its final episode in September. Like most daytime dramas, "Guiding Light" has suffered from declining ratings and CBS is looking for a lower-cost alternative to the hour of programming. The Guinness Book of World Records has cited it as the longest-running television drama.
The Simpsons are being immortalized on stamps to be launched by the U.S. Postal Service later this year. The 44-cent first-class mail stamps, designed by Simpsons creator and executive producer Matt Groening, will feature Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson.
Gary Sheffield's next home run will be his 500th in the major leagues. Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was charged Wednesday with killing a pedestrian last month while driving drunk after a night out at a swank South Beach nightspot.. An arrest warrant charging Stallworth, 28, with DUI manslaughter was filed in the March 14 accident that killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. If convicted, Stallworth would face as many as 15 years in prison.

More than 15 Fox television affiliates across the United States refused to air Tuesday's premiere episode of Osbournes Reloaded -- the variety show starring Ozzy Osbourne and his family -- after deeming the program's content unsuitable for younger viewers. In addition, another 10 affiliates bumped the show from its scheduled 9:20 p.m. prime-time slot, instead airing it much later that night.
