Porter Batiste Stoltz(PBS) at Tipitina's French Quarter PBS's final show?!?!
When most people see the three letters PBS, television's channel 13 is what comes to mind. For music aficionados PBS means something completely different. George Porter Jr., Russell Batiste and Brian Stoltz comprise one of the most powerful three piece bands ever to grace the stage of Tipitina's in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

George Porter, former bassist for the legendary New Orleans funk rock group The Meters, and his two former Funky Meters band mates left no doubt that they are a huge part of the heart of the New Orleans music scene. In a town where there is so much music to taste, these three shining stars have risen out of the musical gumbo together and taken their grooves to new heights. The mischief night crowd embraced PBS with all the love they deserve, and Porter, Batiste & Stoltz gave it back to the crowd to the power of ten. Their cover of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" had all the ghouls and goblins shaking their chains.
I heard a whisper from someone in the crowd that this was to be PBS's last show, and I am astonished. Why these three guys would walk away from this labor of love I can not fathom. Sure enough their myspace page is calling it their final show. For real?
