Live Monday: 'American Mavericks' In Performance And Conversation
Live Monday: 'American Mavericks' In Performance And Conversation Conductor and composer Michael Tilson Thomas.
Watch Michael Tilson Thomas, John Adams, Meredith Monk, Jeremy Denk and the St. Lawrence String Quartet in an evening of performance and conversation. Throughout this month on a tour that's crossed the country, the San Francisco Symphony and music director Michael Tilson Thomas have turned the spotlight on several of America's homegrown eclectics. Calling their multi-city festival American Mavericks, the SFS reminds us just how vital, exciting and energizing American creative voices have been to musical culture ? and how much that spirit continues to thrive among today's American composers.

In anticipation of the orchestra's "American Mavericks" series at Carnegie Hall, join us on Monday evening at 7 PM ET for an evening of performance and discussion. Led by WQXR's David Garland and Q2's Nadia Sirota at The Greene Space in New York, the event features Tilson Thomas with composers John Adams and Meredith Monk, pianist Jeremy Denk, the St. Lawrence String Quartet and other special guests exploring music by Adams, Charles Ives and other American originals.
