Fans who purchase the Beastie Boys' recently announced album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1, on Sept. 15 may not have to wait long for its sequel. "Pt. 2 is pretty much done," says B-Boys rapper Mike D. "Pt. 1's going to be your regular CD in the stores and to download, but . . . Pt. 2 is going to be released in . . . a different way." Pt. 2 will include a sample of classic-rock icon Bob Dylan's voice.
Aerosmith have postponed three concerts because of an unspecified injury to singer Steven Tyler. The shows had been scheduled for this past Wednesday in Cincinnati; Friday in Hershey, Pa.; and this Sunday in Virginia Beach, Va. Plans for makeup dates are pending.
Michael Jackson was laid to rest on Tuesday.
Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson on Saturday night in the same arena where he was to stage his comeback, dancing along with an impersonator doing Jackson's distinctive moves. Jackson, who died June 25, was to begin a series of 50 concerts at the 23,000-seat O2 starting July 13. A picture of a young Michael Jackson appeared onstage while Madonna was performing "Holiday," then the impersonator came on, wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks. The music then switched to Jackson's song, "Wanna Be Starting Something." After the number, Madonna told the crowd, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known," and the crowd of about 17,000 roared its approval.
Robert S. McNamara, the secretary of defense who was vilified for prosecuting the Vietnam War, then devoted himself to helping the world's poorest nations, died Monday. He was 93.
Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair's shooting death was a homicide, police said Sunday, but authorities stopped short of saying it was a murder-suicide committed by the 20-year-old girlfriend found dead by his side. Tennessee state officials say they had been preparing a youth suicide prevention public service announcement featuring former NFL quarterback Steve McNair before he was shot and killed last week.
California Police say Joyce DeWitt, who played the character Janet Wood on the popular show "Three's Company", was pulled over Saturday afternoon and cited for drunken driving.
American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and her fiancé, general contractor Mike McCuddy, were married Sunday afternoon. The wedding was held in Prospect Harbor, Maine at the United Methodist Church across the street from DioGuardi's home.
Foo Fighters headlined an Independence Day barbecue Saturday on the White House lawn in front of a crowd that included President Obama, some government officials, wounded military personnel and their families. "It's an honor to be playing here for you people," frontman Dave Grohl said at the start of the band's brief set, which featured a new tune titled "Wheels" that will appear on a Fighters hits collection due out this fall.

VH1 Classic launched "100 Concerts in 100 Days," a promotion in which it will air "some of the biggest concerts in rock history" through Oct. 13. The network airs the shows at 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily. In the coming weeks, the network also plans to air Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: Live in NYC, Iron Maiden: Somewhere Back in Time, John Lennon: Live in NYC '72 and Brian Wilson Presents Pet Sounds: Live in London.
Casey Kasem has done his final countdown. The 77-year-old DJ told "American Top 20" listeners across the country Saturday that the program would be his last. Kasem launched his weekly countdown of the nation's most popular songs, the "American Top 40," on July 4, 1970. Ryan Seacrest took over the show in 2004, and Kasem went on to host two syndicated spinoffs, the "American Top 20" and "American Top 10." Kasem said he "loved every minute" of his broadcasting career, but that he was leaving the show to "free up time I need to focus on myriad other projects."

1980s pop pioneers, Spandau Ballet, are ready to reunite for a comeback tour.
Despite recent rumors, singer Chris Cornell insists that Soundgarden haven't discussed reuniting for a tour, although he reveals that the band members are talking about revisiting their back catalog. "[We're] trying to put together an album of B-sides and maybe a box set with some unreleased tracks," says the rocker. "We all feel it's time to do that . . . we have a lot of new fans discovering our music." Cornell adds that an eventual Soundgarden reunion is "not impossible."
