Unlicensed Broadcaster Interferes with WNTI Signal
Unlicensed Broadcaster Interferes with WNTI Signal
Have you experienced interference while listening to WNTI, especially in Morris, Somerset and Hunterdon Counties? Please read this article for more information and learn what you can do to help.

Many listeners have been calling the WNTI on-air studios and sending emails to us regarding interference to our signal in the eastern portion of our coverage area. After some investigating by our loyal audience, myself and other engineers from affected radio stations, the source of the interference has been tracked down to a "pirate broadcaster" in Brooklyn, NY. There are no radio stations licensed to 91.9 in the Brooklyn area. In fact, the only licensed 91.9 stations in the immediate tri-state area are WNTI, WSHR in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, W220AA in Parlin NJ [very limited signal] and W220AG (WDVR) in Lawerenceville, NJ.

WNTI has notified the FCC of the interference; however, you can help with information provided to the FCC that confirms the illegal broadcasts. The "broadcaster" has identified themselves as Radio Moshiach, with the website http://www.radiomoshiach.org and phone number 718-363-1652. Reports of interference along Route 78 all the way west of Bridgewater, NJ and Route 80 out to Denville have been confirmed.

Please help the FCC help WNTI by filling out "Form 2000", and filing an online interference complaint. Check the bottom option, "Form 2000F, Other Communications Complaint." Be sure to include where you were listening, when you were listening and what you heard from the unlicensed broadcaster. The more information available, the faster action can be taken. Please make sure what you are hearing is the Radio Moshiach signal before you file a complaint, and not one of the legitimate broadcasters that are licensed to transmit on 91.9. The audio from Radio Moshiach is usually telephone quality, distorted and often bleeding over on 91.7 and 92.1 FM.

Here is a link to the FCC Form 2000F.

If you'd like to contact the FCC directly, you can call 1-888-CALL-FCC, email them at fccinfo@fcc.gov, or write to:
Federal Communications Commission, 201 Varick Street, Suite 1151, New York, NY 10014-4870.

Thank you for your continued support in WNTI's 50th year on the air.
