(wnmu) - Houghton County residents have elected a new judge for the 97th District Court. Challenger Mark Wisti won over Douglas Edwards in that race.

Chassell Township voters approved 2 mills for four years for road improvements.

In Duncan Township, a proposal for one mill over three years for ambulance services was approved.

Franklin Township residents voted for 2 mills for three years for road improvements. They approved 2 mills for three years for firefighting equipment and to purchase a fire truck.

In Osceola Township, an increase of 3 mills for five years for road and sidewalk improvements was rejected.

In Schoolcraft Township, residents said no to a 1.5-mill increase over 10 years for road repairs and improvements.
