Michigan Tech approved for new Peace Corps program

Michigan Technological University has been approved for the establishment of a Peace Corps Master's International program in Mechanical Engineering. Tech began working with the Peace Corps in 1997. Bill Predebon is chair of the Mechanical Engineering department. He says the students who participate are very dedicated and the program has been very successful. As part of the program, students first complete an on-campus work program, then spend 2 years working with the Peace Corps and then return to campus for 1 semester to finish their degrees. The students participating in the new program will begin in fall of 2009.
