Michigan Harvest Gathering is taking food donations

The Michigan Harvest Gathering program is asking for donations of non-perishable food items. The donated items will go to families in need. To donate, residents can drop off food items to the Secretary of State branch offices in their communities. Donations will be taken through December 12th. Last year the Michigan Harvest Gathering collected more than $400,000 and 289,000 pounds of food. The goal for 2008 is $430,000 and 300,000 pounds of food.
